Doylestown to Meet Rittman in Key League Clash

Doylestown faces Rittman in a decisive Wayne County league game at the Rittman Athletic field at 2:30. In County Jail Fred W Smith brought to county jail to serve a $100 fine plus costs in Justice Seedhouse's court at Doylestown for driving while intoxicated. Appeals Court to Hold Wooster Session November 1

The appeals court will convene in Wooster on November 1 with Judges Funk Washburn and Stevens presiding. In Sterling Parsons was arraigned in Justice Van Nest's court and fined 50 dollars plus costs after pleading guilty to permitting gambling in his business. Deputy Ed Mills assisted in Parsons's arrest following a card game disturbance reported October 14 by Mrs. Laura Hoskins. Parsons had been previously arrested on a slot machine charge at his premises.

October Car Registrations Hit 99 in Wayne County

October filings show 99 new car registrations in Wayne County. Rittman residents led with 11 new registrations at Wooster clerk of courts, followed by Doylestown and Creston entries. Last year October saw 57 filings. Notables include Clifford Mohler and Martha Berger of Rittman, Squire John Van Nest of Wooster, and others from Wadsworth, Doylestown, Creston, and Wooster.

Emergency School Course Under Way at Rittman High

An emergency school course is being given in the domestic science room of the Rittman high auditorium every Tuesday at 1 o clock. Home management interior decorating and cooking are being taught. Ladies are cordially invited to attend.

Mrs Franklin E Bradshaw plans to join her husband in Liberia Africa in the near future. She travels with five other wives of Firestone Rubber Co workers to their plantations from New York City departing November 1. Prudence, the couple’s daughter, will stay with her grandmother in North Lewisburg during the seven months absence. Mr Bradshaw is the son of Dr and Mrs C A Bradshaw.

Armistice Day Observance Planned Across Churches

Voters here align with national favor for the New Deal as Armistice Day celebrations are planned. A service at 10:30 Sunday at the Presbyterian church will invite Tee Rion Legion Auxiliary Boy Scouts and Scouts. The Legion and Auxiliary host a Saturday dinner and events noted. Sunday morning service will unite the congregation with families and the public. The Presbyterian congregation will attend the First Presbyterian church of Akron for the evening service where Dr. Lewis Mudge will speak to congregations from Seville Rittman Barberton and Akron.

November 13 Date For Men's Dinner

The Laymen's Missionary Movement sponsors a men’s dinner Tuesday evening November 13 at 6 00 in the Presbyterian church. The community is invited to attend this interdenominational program. Rev BW Mowry of Korea will narrate the message with native Koreans in the cast and discuss Korea. Other features of information are planned as part of the program. It aims for fellowship.

Creston Girl Joins Wooster College Choir

Creston girl Miss Jea nor Giffen, daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry Giffen, is a member of Wooster College choir. The choir, one of northern Ohio’s largest, selected 102 voices from about 160 tryouts under Prof No Tune, director of the Conservatory of Music. The choir provides special music for Memorial Chapel services and vesper programs during the school year. Members gain valuable training in choral singing with time required for practice and appearances.

James McCoy Ends Life By Hanging Near Madisonburg

James McCoy, 51, hanged himself Saturday in a wagon shed on his farm north of Madisonburg. Funeral services were held Monday at Murray funeral home. Prestons trial in Crenton cemetery. He is survived by his wife Lyda Holsington McCoy and relatives including Orphus McCoy of Sterling and Tom McCoy of Seville, half-brothers.

Injured Man in Wreck Near Georgetown

Sherman Sigler of Loudonville was slightly injured in an automobile collision at about 8 30 near Georgetown on Route 6. His car collided with one driven by George Ackers of Wadsworth. both cars were badly damaged. Ackers sustained minor scratches and bruises and was en route to a Barbers' Code Authority meeting in Wooster. Donald Sigler and Lida Sigler were passengers in the Sigler vehicle.

Funeral attendance for Henry Kartz in Aahtebula cited

Mrs Helks and Mr Helks attended the funeral of Henry Kartz, brother-in-law of Mr 12 Ielk, in Aahtebula on Saturday. Mrs Yaonirt Lance arrived from Barberton Citizens hospital and is reported in very good condition.
