The W. B. A. Review held memorial services Tuesday evening, Nov. 5, in their hall, 23 members present. Plans were made for future progress of the revue. The next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 7:30. The distract party at Seville on Nov. 19.
The next regular meeting of the W C V T A will be held at the home of Mrs. Ears Harpater Grant 81 on Monday November 43 at 2 PM. Fritz serves as president.
The National Education Association and others sponsor American Education Week from November 11 to 17. Rixt Man public schools invite parents and all residents to visit any school during the week. A radio program is set for Monday at 2 to 3 pm featuring Dr Joe Clifton and Ree Kendall. The American Legion will assist if possible. A special Wednesday night session is planned at the high school auditorium with further building times to be announced. Plan to include as much educational programming as possible.
The Rittman Board of Education met at the high school to review routine duties and discuss holidays. They added the Friday after Thanksgiving as a school-less day, giving four vacation days for teachers and pupils. The Christmas vacation length will follow county precedent.

Revival services at the First United Methodist church of Rittman begin next Sunday November 10 and run through December 1 with daily evening services at 7 30 p m The public is invited to attend as effort is made to ensure a wholesome and uplifting revival
Cashlen, W. B. Lea of the Rittman Savings Bank last Tuesday noon gave a dinner in honor of the bank employees at the United Brethren church. Miss Stoolmiller, Mrs. Shook, and Mr. Krabill spoke highly of Lee's hospitality.
A Rittman group held a masquerade dance at Branlgan Hall on Friday evening. About seven attended and enjoyed music by Herb Wolfe’s orchestra. Mesdames Isenverger Day Bender and Turner acted as chaperones.
Rotary hosts a dinner for ladies at the United Brethren church hall with Halloween decor. Guests wore costumes from gypsy to Oriental and Spanish themes while games led by Gene Branigan included tight rope, barrel and apple contests.
The Olla Podrida club met at 780 pm Tuesday to hear Misa Effle Russell of Leroy discuss child welfare, noting Southern European poverty, especially Naples. Edgar of Leroy accompanied her. a program included Currant events, a book review, piano solo, and a hostess lunch with yellow and pink mums. December plans shift to Mrs Verno Gebhart.
The Thursday Bridge club of young married people met at the Brenneman home on Sterling Ave. The group traveled from Dr and Mrs Qo J Shong's home, arriving masked in Halloween decor. High score awards went to Dr. and Mrs. Stong.
The Shumaker granary near Hermansville was short about 40 bushels of wheat. Sheriff Shearer detained two young men, who confessed to the theft and said the grain was moved to three different places. Names withheld. they will face Judge Saunders Saturday.
Roscoe McCullough, Canton politician, was appointed by Gov Myers Y Cowper to fill the unexpired term of the late Senator Theodore K Burton. McCullough is well known in Wayne County.
A fast Erie passenger train struck Willian Frewtrick south of Crestop while he rode a Ford coupe across Stor yy Ave crossing. The wreck demolished the car and injured Frewtrick, who was taken to Wadworth Municipal Hospital with a broken leg and other injuries. He is not in serious condition but will require a long hospital stay for recovery.
The Rittman Village Council received a letter from the Ohio Fuel Gas Co about a planned gas rate increase. Two company representatives will meet Thursday to discuss a proposed raise of 60 cents on the current service charge and an extra 15 cents per thousand feet, aiming for a total service charge of 1.00 and 0.63 per thousand feet. The council plans to oppose the proposal in its early stage, as Toulgut's meeting may decide the project’s fate.
Scouts report rapid progress in a four patrol contest with 60 points for cleanliness and near 100 for punctuality and presence, plus 200 for each second class test passed. Orrin Biddle formerly of the Hiddle and Fix service station on Sterlng Avenue will head a large dairy venture on the Robe Beery farm owned by John Hatfield, his brother-in-law. The plan calls for a herd of milking cows and modern facilities to accommodate them, with preparations under way for the anticipated project.

The Biddlies two year Btorling Ave service station closes. Mr Biddle shifts to dairy work while Roy Fix partners with Wesley Hummel to run Yarmain Qormahood and Smith super service on South Main. They began Friday and plan motel service and new car displays next week. The Sterling Ave site is vacated and to be reused by Harsey and Rohrar.
Kurtz and Mohler announced that late next week they will formally open a restaurant and refreshment room on the rear floor section of the new Swarts building on Ohio Ave. The room will feature a nile green and cream color scheme. Tables will accommodate customers and handbills with opening details will be circulated early next week.
Joe Sherrick and wife moved from Hitt mag residence to a 105 acre farm nine miles northwest of Wooster. They have resided there since Wednesday last week. Joe will operate a barber shop on the farm while Mrs Sherrick raises chickens. The farm is their property and largely rented by the acre.
