Goshen College Counselor To Address Rittman High

Ed Herr admissions counselor from Goshen College will speak to Rittman High School students on Thursday November 13. The talk will explain the Trimester of Study and Service program unique in offering seven weeks of study followed by seven weeks of unpaid service in Central America and the Caribbean.

Burnett Leads Dedication Of Chippewa Watershed Dam

The first dam in the Chippewa Watershed Conservancy district was opened on Buck Creek in Medina County. Burnett executive secretary of the watershed association closed the drain valve and recounted efforts by leaders and officials that launched the flood control project.

Gov Maddox Speaks At Calvary Baptist

Governor Lester Maddox of Georgia will be guest speaker at Calvary Baptist Church Sunday at 10 am. The speech outlines his view that America faces spiritual problems before solving social and civil issues, stressing discipline bible study prayer and respect for authority. Maddox has spoken widely at denominational events and is a member of North Atlanta Church and a York Rite and Scottish Rite Mason.

Trimble Chosen for City Hall Post in Rittman

Councilman Jay Griffith announced Trimble was unanimously selected to join Rittman city government. The 27 year old Kent State graduate with Penn postgraduate study will start December 1 after careers in Goodyear and Navy intelligence. He and wife Antonette plan to buy a house in Rittman.

United Fund Falls Short in Campaign Goal

The United Fund campaign ended last week short of its $18,600 goal with $15,600 collected led by Vernon Phillips. Several divisions remain incomplete though Government Workers and Utilities, Schools and Organizations surpassed targets. A Dutch Treat Awards and Victory Celebration is set for Thursday November 13 at Williams Restaurant.
