Manual training exhibit prizes awarded at Wooster event
Attendance at the Wednesday evening manual training exhibit was strong, with fewer in the afternoon. First prize in the high school exhibit went to Paul and Ralph Baker for 300 dollars, second prize split between Fred Hostetler and Harry Hall for 100 dollars each. In grades, Mark Longenecker won first honor receiving 1.50, second prize shared by Joe Razel and Maynard Blatter for 0.60 each. Arrests Made Early Saturday Morning
Marshal Mills and deputies, patrolling burglaries last week, stopped a car in Ritman about 3 a.m. Saturday. Inside were two men and a boy. search found an empty bottle from liquor just poured out by the youth who admitted the source. Henry Hackworth was arrested. the men were fined and the youth released.

Deputy Sheriff Keiner Injured in Motorcycle Crash
Deputy Sheriff John Keiner was badly injured Sunday evening when his motorcycle hit a rut near Smithville. He had been at the crossing tragedy scene west of Rittman and was on his way home when the accident occurred. A passing motorist picked him up and he was initially unconscious. He suffered a deep gash on his right cheek and an injured ankle, was treated in Wooster, then taken to his home.
