Last week Sir Harry Ruckel of Sharon Center became the purchaser of the W G Spade Cash grocery in Rittman. The Spade family has long operated the store, with roots dating back forty years to E P Spade and later M and W I Spade. John Wenger later joined, forming a partnership that dissolved about five years ago, leaving the Spade family to run the business. Ruckel will take possession next Monday as he relocates from Sharon Center where he has run a successful general store for two to three years.

Last Friday evening a procession of cars carried the Ladies of the Maccabens from the Realty Block to Wadsworth. Fourteen candidates were initiated at Wadsworth with local members aiding and hosting the visitors. Man Injured At Wooster Lumber Plant
George Callahan of Akron formerly of Rittman suffered a severe hand injury Tuesday afternoon at Curry Lumber Co plant in Wooster. The left hand was mangled requiring amputation of three fingers, the index finger cut off, and two other fingers nearing the ends. Callahan formerly lived in Rittman and worked at WR Luwa lumber yards. he now resides in Akron. Brother Guy Callahan of this place is mentioned.

Miss Goldie Kobel, living with her mother on Saitet, was taken to Wadsworth hospital on Tuesday afternoon in A L Ebert’s new ambulance. She underwent an appendectomy and it was reported successful and the patient is doing fine. This was the first trip for Mr Ebert’s new conveyance and it performed well. Previously, an out of town ambulance had been required and arrival was delayed.
