Rittman Slips In Season Opener Against Canton
Rittman A C opened their season with a 10 to 9 loss to Canton after a back and forth nine innings. Mayor Bender pitched the first ball, Brainard was Rittman’s catcher, and Brainard won a prize for a thore-run. Next Sunday May 9 Rittman A C faces Ohio Public Service of Ashland at 2:30 pm with admission 40 cents for men and 10 cents for ladies.

High School Grounds Undergoing Landscaping
Work began last week as a corps of men landscaping the high school grounds. A large number of trees and a goodly amount of shrubbery are being planted with much hard work to beautify the area, which will look much better when completed.
Hospital Day Observed at Wadsworth Hospital
National Hospital day on May 12 will be observed by Wadsworth Municipal Hospital with a baby show. All babies born at the institution in 1924 1925 and 1926 will be guests of honor. Parents and friends are invited. The program starts at 2 30 p m. D Pilcher a member of the Babies and Children's Hospital Cleveland staff will give an address. Other numbers include vocal solo by Mrs Carrie Geisinger whistling solo by Ruby Watkins readings by Mrs M W Everhard violin solo by Mrs Rev Lentz reading Juliet Barnard.

Aged farmer dies after auto collision in Wooster area
Daniel A. Correll aged 66 of near Old People's Homesite was struck by a Marshalytis driver while walking home after visiting the Lee Amstutz home to fill out property tax blanks. Blinded by another car's lights, he was not seen and died en route to a Wooster hospital. He was a well known farmer, survived by a widow, with funeral services held Tuesday at East Chippewa church.
