Roof fire blamed on a defective flue at M. E. Lances home Thursday afternoon last week. Fire whistle summoned the department but bucket brigade largely contained the blaze with only a small hole burned in the roof and minimal loss.

Two Automobile Accidents Near Sterling
Two car crashes occurred Sunday and Monday near Sterling. A Ford driven by Charles Sehmltz overturned while passing, injuring Schultz and Damels with Schultz suffering three fractured ribs. A second collision north on Minst damaged the Oakland car with no injuries to the wagon or horse. the dray horse fled toward Grant street and returned to the depot.
