Rittman Opens Season With Loss To Thomastown

Rittman 5 Thomastown 10 in a Sunday baseball opener. Owens pitched strongly through seven batters, fanning the first seven, while Harpster handled the catching. Thomastown tallied four earned runs off Pitcher Owens, with Williams and Weimer also working in relief.

Medina Gas & Fuel Co Franchise Pending Approval

Medina council discussed the gas franchise from The Medina Gas & Fuel Co of Ashland with all members present except Swartz. The council expected approval at an adjourned meeting Wednesday evening. The street grading on State from Grant to Ohio, sewer and health matters, and fire department items were addressed. A night police matter was tabled and bills were ordered paid.

Advertising Device to Consume Boxboard Across Continent

Twelve to fifteen Cleveland experts visit the Box board plant next week to assist in producing an advertising device. The device will consume five carloads of boxboard and require two carloads of lumber to crate, plus 1% carload of paper for wrapping. It will be shipped by express from Maine to California.

Boy Struck by Automobile on Main and Elliott

Eight year old son of A C Whitman was hit by a car driven by Alphus Goffinet at Main and Elliott. The boy suffered a dislocated ankle and bruises but is now able to hobble about with no serious injuries.

Paving Planned for Wayne County Roads Toward Akron

Peters and Baird of Wadsworth awarded the contract in Columbus to pave a 10 mile strip east of Smithville on the Wooster Akron road for 23459.70. Work to be finished by August, with additional links to follow toward Doylestown and Akron, aiming for a complete Wooster to Akron route by fall 1915 and paving toward Easton. The qualified electors of Rittman Village School District Wayne County Ohio are notified of an election on Monday May 11 194 to decide issuing additional bonds of fifteen thousand dollars to build and equip a new schoolhouse. John Thomas Dies at Milton Farm Home

John Thomas longtime Milton resident died at his farm home 214 miles southwest of here on Friday and was buried at Beech Grove on Sunday. He was a quiet hard working citizen and is survived by his widow son Fred and three daughters with many grandchildren. The family receives condolences from all who know them.

Rittman Prepares Strongest Lecture Course Yet

Rittman plans a landmark winter lecture series contingent on completing a new auditorium. The Ohio Lyceum Bureau booked Lou J. Bea champ Byron W. King Carters Caro linian Jubilee Singers Bertha Wooden Orchestra and James Francia O'Donnell. The Bertha Wooden Orchestra costs $125 per show. If the hall is not ready on time the contract could be voided though officials believe the building will be finished in time.
