The second annual Rittman High School vocal concert will be held in the school auditorium Friday May 14 at 8 p.m. with the theme Say it With Music. More than 100 students from Prep Chorus Choralettes and concert choir perform with an instrumental ensemble joining to sing O Come Let Us Sing. Mrs Carolyn Warren directs. Admission 75 cents for adults 35 cents for students. Tickets at door or from choir students. Proceeds fund choir awards contest fees and a choral acoustical shell fund.

Father Of Ronald Goodhart Dies
Services for Earl J. Goodhart, 68, of Kent-Mogadore Road, Kent, father of Ronald E. Goodhart of Rittman, were held Tuesday. He died of a heart attack Saturday morning. A Portage County resident all his life, he was a retired firebuilder. He leaves his wife Gertrude and three other sons Louis Raymond von are Norman of Kent and 12 grandchildren. Burial was in Kent.

Fires Strike Rittman Area With Four Blazes Over Weekend
Firefighters battled four incidents in Rittman over the weekend. A 11 a.m. Friday alarm at Packaging Corporation of America cafeteria was contained quickly. A Sunday blaze at Vimeo Macaroni Products drew a crowd, and a trailer fire on the W Goodman property east of the Erie Railroad underpass followed. A final fire Monday near the city dump was extinguished. No insurance was carried on the incidents.

City Sprays Ponds to Tackle Mosquito Problem

Funeral services for John Luikart, 84, will be held Thursday at Gillman Funeral Home with Rev James Watt officiating. Burial follows at Ritt mvian Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 7 to 9 p.m. He died Monday after a brief illness. Born September 14, 1880 in Moore County, he lived near Bittman since 1922. He was a respected farmer, predeceased by wife Ida in 1956. Surviving are a son Irvin Lutkart, a daughter Miss Josephine Lutkart, a brother Julius of Hannibal Ohio, and a sister Mrs Kitty Black of Pennsylvania.
