Banquet Favors Lake Project and State Funds

The Warne Counts Frah and Came Protectives Association held a successful banquet at Odd Fellows hall in Wooster on Tuesday evening with at least 16 from Rittman attending. nine directors were elected, Judge W E Wevegani acted as toastmaster after returning from Cuba. D Q Thompson discussed hunting and fishing license funds, noting $580,000 collected in 1926 statewide and $352,000 in the treasury. Myers urged creating a lake at Rittman and using the $352,000 for it, mentioning a possible Wayne county game refuge and 25,000 pheasants to be hatched this year plus six million fish distributed statewide. The event drew praise for Doc Jones and his orchestra. Rittman attendees listed. About 260 plates were laid, the hall limit, and membership cards were available via J B Sherrick.

Assessors Confer With County Auditor on Listing Day

Huegles’ Cases Dismissed by Judge Starn

Last Friday Judge Starn dismissed the Huegles Eva and Alex, whose cases moved from the Mayor’s court to the common pleas court. He discharged the Huegles amid a U S Supreme Court decision affecting mayor and justice of the peace courts.

Keiner Arrests Two On Portage Road

Deputy Sheriff John Keiner patrolling northern and eastern county roads made two reckless driving arrests on Monday Elmer Maurer of Rittman and R B Johnson of Akron were taken into custody Maurer was tried before Mayor Bender and fined ten dollars plus costs Johnson was tried before Mayor Black of Wooster.

Florida party returns home from ten days south trip

Mrs. F A Longenecker Mrs. Elizbeth Hershey and Mrs. Stoner returned to Ohio on Wednesday after a ten days tour in the south. They planned to stay longer but friendly hosts covered the territory comprehensively in ten days. They enjoyed the trip and were glad to return.

Harmon Faber May Succeed Himself On Election Board

At a Democratic Executive Committee meeting in the city on Thursday evening Harmon Faber was unanimously recommended to succeed himself as a member of the Wa Hie Board of Elections for a term of one year. The committee reiterated party history and pledged continued support.

Juniors Stage Lively Play to Crowded House in Agione

The Junior class presented a musical drama on March 17 drawing a packed audience. Miss Josephine Gannon hosted pre show festivities and guests enjoyed theater, a midnight supper, and green and white decor. The cast featured Keith Ak den, Mason Cas, Robert Pit, and others with Henry Kline as a bold bad character, Willard Wilty and Ruth Hoover as a witty couple, while Nan Rizor led as the star Nan with sturdy support from peers. Proceeds were expected to reach around 1,000 dollars.
