Donald Forrer of Ruinian joins Arthur Schmaltz of Akron and Salvatore De Majo of New Haven as Yale School of Fine Arts graduates tapped for a CWA mural at the U S Naval Academy Memorial Hall. The trio will study the 1898 Battle of Santiago aboard a destroyer then work on a 33 by 11 foot depiction.

Two Crestonites Recover From Injuries In Wreck

Chris Schlegel and his nephew Charles Schlegel of Creston are recovering after a vehicle crash near Akron last Wednesday. Police say they were in a car that hit a safety zone in front of the O'Neil store. Chris suffered a fractured skull and other internal injuries while Charles had a fractured nose and several broken ribs. The car, owned by Robert Russell of Creston, was destroyed. The Schlegels had a prior accident two years ago on Acme hill resulting in the death of Robert Earl.

Court briefs on Hoffman estate appraisal in Doylestown

In accordance with the will Jay Hoffman is appointed as executor of his father’s estate in Doylestown. The widow Anna Hoffman and heirs will receive assets while four co-heirs are named. Appraisers Clarence Dannemiller EN Kodhler and William Debhel are selected to value the estate at $11,200.

Doylestown youths bound over for wine theft case

Lee Roberts and Herbert Brevald were bound over to the April Grand Jury under $100 bond after admitting taking some wine from Wallenstine with permission. Wallenstine, sick, reports 128 chickens also missing and accuses several local youths of theft.

Howard A Ball Post 423 of the Aspertecan legion uses social events to raise membership to half the quota. Meetings on the first and third Tuesdays include a local orchestra and barn dance tunes. Brethren Church Plans Sunrise Service Sunday

The Brethren church will hold a Sunrise service Sunday morning beginning at six o'clock on the church lawn barring bad weather. Special music has been prepared and the public is invited. Baptismal services are scheduled for three o'clock in the afternoon.

The Presbyterian Church choir offered a cantata titled Hosannia Sunday evening under the direction of Mrs. Frank Erbin. Special parts were sung by C. Julia Sauvain Dies At Ben Sauver Home

Julia Sauvain died at the home of her son Den in the Ben Saurer residence after several weeks of illness. She was born near Appletreek and leaves one son and three grandchildren, with five sisters and two brothers surviving. Services were held at the Saurer home and at the Apostolic church near Rittman with burial in the cemetery.
