Miss Palmer substitutes for Mrs Gordon in morning judging.

Bloodmobile to visit Rittman April 4 at American Legion Hall
The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in the American Legion Hall in Rittman from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 4. After missing the 125 pint quota on recent visits the unit will make only two stops this year. Anyone in the area may donate by calling Mrs Bodager or by stopping at the Legion hall to give a pint.

Bike Victim Still Critical After Route 94 Crash
Charles Akers, 11, remains in critical condition two weeks after his bicycle was hit by a car on Route 94 south of town. He suffers convulsions a base skull fracture and a broken leg as James Schmale of Smithville faces no charges yet per police reports.

Rittman Council backs watershed conservation effort
The Rittman village council approved backing the Chippewa watershed conservation program with a federal aid survey. Mayor Baldwin and Clerk Zivik signed the application. Boy injured during target shooting near Rittman
Four freshmen from Rittman High School went to Roy Forrer farm east of town for target practice when a rifle discharged. Tom Scheetz 14 was hit in the right thigh severing the artery and required emergency surgery at Wadsworth Hospital and later transfer to Akron City Hospital. He received multiple blood transfusions and will remain hospitalized for a week.

Two More Die In Wayne County Highways
Two more deaths on Wayne County highways this week raise total fatalities to six in nine days and eight this year. Police warn the year could become a record. past high counts include 27 in 1954. Victims were Ronald Earl Snyder, 43, of Wooster, killed in a head on collision on Hillcrest curve, and Amy May O Bryan of Wadsworth, killed by a skull fracture when her car struck a truck on Route 3 north of Wooster.

Resigns from county guidance center post
Nathan Ross resigned from the Wayne Medina Holmes County Guidance Center staff where he supervised psychiatry and social workers. He transferred to the Summit County Mental Hygiene Clinic in Akron. Joseph C. Pape 84 died at his home after a six month illness. A longtime resident of Rittman and former farmer, he lived near Sterling and worked in Rittman for 15 years before retirement.
