Wellis Pletcher Sellers, 59, long time Creston merchant and civic figure, died after a heart attack at his store Monday. He helped run Tuttle and Sellers, Sellers and Ober, and Sellers and Long in Creston for 33 years. Survived by his wife Nora, daughter Virginia Long, two sisters, and a granddaughter Jo Anne Long. Funeral held Wednesday at the Methodist church. Burial in Creston cemetery.

Sam Spersky of Rittman was arrested for intoxication, tried before Mayor John Baldwin and fined $5 plus costs. Henry Paulk of Barberton also faced intoxication charges and was fined $8 plus tests. Roy Winkler of Wadsworth will be tried Thursday for reckless driving after tipping a tree and damaging his car front near Joe Pape’s home.
