The American Legion post announced 81 men had filed and that the average payment in June will be 450. The post ordered a British World War field gun for Memorial Day at Soldiers Circle in Rituman cemetery. The gun, 21 feet long and 6 feet high, weighs 12 131 pounds and fires a 60 pound shot.

Spring Football Begins For 32 Prospects At Indian High

Coach Tibby Young of Fitman High leads 32 spring football hopefuls for the Indians. Six are letter men and ten are from eighth grade. Players range from 90 to 230 pounds. Equipment will be issued and the first drill session is set for Thursday afternoon. This is the second year of four week spring drills with intra squad scrimmages planned before the season.

Suicide of Myles Hoover Shocks Rural Community

Myles Clayton Hoover, 22, a high school standout in music and history, died by hanging Tuesday evening near his home outside Rittman. Funeral services set for Friday at the United Brethren church, with burial in Wadsworth cemetery, under local ministers. Survived by parents Mr and Mrs Clayton Hoover, three sisters Marguerite Doris and Kathryn, plus uncles, aunts and cousins.

Weiser Wins Orrville Postmaster Nomination in Court Vote

In Wooster's common pleas court, Clyde Weiser earned 38 votes on the 16th ballot to lead a field including John Kropt and LW Grosjean for the Orrville postmaster nomination. Road Hearing Set for April 9
