Public Meeting Planned for Rittman School Bond Drive
The Rittman board of education plans a 1 185 000 bond campaign to voters in May. A voter information sheet and speakers bureau will be organized. A public meeting with Superintendent W H Hauenstein is set for Thursday April 21 to discuss issues.

Penny Davis Named Delegate to Buckeye Girls State
Penny Davis daughter of Lawrence and Mrs Davis of 192 North State was named Monday as delegate to Buckeye Girls State by the Rittman Lions Club. Nancy Hoover daughter of Harold and Mrs Hoover of Rittman RD was named as alternate. Penny will attend Buckeye Girls State in Columbus this June with Jean Adams. Penny is a junior and member of Future Teachers of America Librarians Club and the Rittman High School concert choir. She belonged to Latin Club in freshman and sophomore years and attends Church of Christ at 180 North Main.

Dog owner citations under city animal control rules
City ordinances prohibit dogs running at large in streets and entering private yards without consent. Loud barking or howling constituting disturbance is unlawful. Violations of sections 41.1 and 414 carry up to a fifty dollar fine and will be strictly enforced by Chief M C Heffelman and the Rittman Police Department.
Rittman plans seven room motel and barber shop expansion
Bill Williams and Orin Rufener announce a new seven room motel and professional building to be attached to the Williams Restaurant in Rittman. The project includes a barber shop, banquet room, and offices, with brick exterior and private baths in each motel room. Open date is expected in late July.

CATV Tower Construction Advances in Rittman Area
Construction of a community CATV tower proceeds on the Nelson Ramsier farm northwest of Rittman with a 300 foot structure planned to collect channels from Columbus Cleveland Wheeling and Youngstown. Dex A Sedwick of Armstrong Utilities says pole space from existing phone and power lines will be sought to feed homes by fall. The system would offer time weather data and FM music with channels listed and a monthly rate of 125. A $10 disconnection fee applies in year one.
