A speaker recalls antiquarian books from before the American republic noting a Latin Acquinas commentary printed in 1620. The volume, owned by Rev. John B. Hobart of a Presbyterian church, was published in Antwerp near Waterloo, linking historic events to liberte y and colonial origins.
Gottlieb Butter and Fannie Hupp of Milton Township wed in a filing notice. Omar D. Firestone of Ashland and Florence Gail Barnhart of Wooster appear in the marriage licence listing.
A pleasant event in Cleveland marked the ninety four year birthday of Mrs Hobart and the sixty first wedding anniversary of her parents. Three children attended along with relatives while twenty five girls from the Schauffler Memorial Training School sang hymns in the parlor. Lawrence Seshanidler performed piano pieces from memory as guests visited and offered congratulations amid flowers from a distant city.
A joyous gathering at Mrs King’s home brought 45 relatives together on a Wednesday for a memorable surprise. Attendees included Reuben King, Daniel Steiner, Rev D C Amstutz, and many Amstutz and Steiner family members who listened to heartfelt welcomes and a blessing, shared memories, and sang together over a bountiful dinner.
A baseball meeting in Schor ger's hall Sunday afternoon attracted town fans. Postmaster J B Mullie called the meeting to order and officers were elected manager A Kelch secretary R E Faber treasurer F N Schafter. C B Shook was appointed to assist. Faber was asked to negotiate for the former ground for the next season and Wm Allison to present the Sunday ball matter to the village council.
The Milton township teachers met at the home of Edd Moine on Tuesday evening March 10 with all members present along with Mr Dula buba and Superintendent Clause. The affirmative won the debate on whether the world is growing better. The meeting included miscellaneous discussion and refreshments served by the teachers. Senior clogs of HQ14 prepare resolutions while visitors and visits to primary rooms occurred.

From Akron Ohio March 8 1914 a subscriber asks to renew the Press for another year praising Rittman growth and town news. The note includes thanks to the editor for a lively up to date paper. Marriage licenses issued Frank Reichenbach and Marion Moncriet both of Orrville.
A local notice informs customers that starting April 1 1914 the saving will rise to 5.00 per M. Ft. due to higher labor costs and reduced log yield. The letter is signed by Wirtshook.
Notice announces bids due April 23 1914 at noon for building a school house in Rutman Village District per plans and specifications. Each bid must include all interested parties and a five hundred dollar guarantee. Lowest responsible bid accepted with right to reject any or all bids. board reserves option to award by labor and materials separately if lowest combined price. By order Roe Faber clerk Board of Education.
The Board of Education of the Rittman Village School District in Wayne County Ohio will receive bids March 26 at the clerk's office for sale of bonds totaling 825,000. Bonds priced at 500 each, issued 1914, mature April 1 each year, bearing 4 1/2 percent interest semiannually. Bid security of 250 required. district reserves right to reject any bid under General Code sections 7629 and 7630.
