Superintendent To Be Named Next Month

The choice of a new su perintendent and the build ing plans will take priority at a meeting next month of an advisory council of Ritt manites named to help further communication and understanding between school patrons and the board of education. Sixteen' Rittmanites in terested in learning about plans for the new group met Friday evening at Ritt man High School. Board member James W. Fryer chaired the meeting during which members of the proposed council learn ed about the method being used to select a new super intendent. Frye said the board has purchased and paid for 10 acres of land for the new school. A remaining 19 acres has been submitted to the court for decision on a selling price, Frye said. Bid opening will be Fri day, March 14, said Frye. Target date for completion of the new high school is Sept. 1, 1970. Frye said the group might meet six times a year or oftener. The new vocational school would al so be discussed at an early meeting, he said following a request from Alvin Stein er, noting that 53 Rittman students had made appli cation for admission to the new school. Richard Winkler, present at the meeting, described the council as a "step in the right direction.' He said the group might help to clarify rumors that have been going around. ed confidence in the school than . Morton Spends $1 Million Here Lincoln Day Banquet
The 37th annual Lincoln Day banquet is set for March 21 at Kittredge Hall on the College of Wooster campus. Speaker State Representative Charles Whalen Jr. is a Ohio third district Republican with a long record on Armed Services matters and housing legislation. Morton Salt Announces New 1 Million Dollar Plant Addition
Morton Salt plans a new production and warehouse complex at the Rittman plant costing over 1 million dollars. The 35 000 square foot facility includes a three floor production block and a 32 000 square foot warehouse with carload area and truck dock. Ground breaking anticipated in May with bid letting around April 15 and completion by next winter.

In June the Rittman Press will interview house holders next week for a new Rittman Sterling directory. Public ation will be in June. Milton United Presbyterian Church youth will make calls to sell the directory for $1.50 or with no extra charge to subscribers. Interviewers may accept new subscriptions or extensions. the directory is expected to be more useful.
