Russell Freeman of Cresta and Donald Brown of Smithville were released from county jail on probation following guilty pleas to theft related charges. Sheriff Ed Mills ordered the releases at the end of the jail term. Brown had been confined after Creston officers arrested him.
Special pre Easter church events begin with Tro Millon Presbyterian and two Brethren churches starting a two week revival led by Rev Wintney of Smut Ave. The Brethren pastor Rev Wibbes, long in ministry, is expected to deliver a strong message. All are invited. services run through Holy Week from Palm Sunday.
Mrs UW A Siliki mother in law WoNock Harris was sought in a wide Mansfield police search last Wednesday and Thursday after she left without notice while visiting. She was last seen north of Route 94 around 5 p m Wednesday. A marshal notified and a road search found no trace. Harris visited friends in Kren and Mansfield before friends reported she was in Mansfield Monday. A check showed she caught Erie train that evening and there was no notice of her departure. Mrs Siliki had previously made unannounced trips away from Rittman and plans to visit Mansfield briefly before returning.
Dicky Milford announces he has given up bicycle riding forever after a crash Friday afternoon. While riding his brother's bicycle near the B and W station, he swung onto Sheldon avenue and hit the Adams car at Main Street, injuring himself as Mr. Adams rushed him to a location not fully stated.
