Kent State Hosts Second Short Course in News Photography

Hunting and driving perils in Ohio compared

Reports from the Conservation Division show 530000 hunting licenses sold in Ohio last year and 44 fatal hunting accidents. Non fatal hunting accidents reached 445 with 59 fatal automobile crashes on state highways totaling 578 deaths among licensed drivers and chauffeurs. Municipal deaths are not included.

Services Held Tuesday For George Ray

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon for George Ray 68 former proprietor of the Erie Restaurant in Sterling for 15 years at AS L Ebert Funeral home. Burial was in Shreve cemetery. He died in Wooster township Sunday morning. Survived by two brothers Ed of Ritman and Frank of Marion and two sisters Mrs E V Williams of Indianapolis Ind and Mrs Emma Weary of Barton.

Evangelist Haycock Leads Rittman Church Meetings

Evangelistic meetings at the Rittman United Brethren Church directed by Evangéeat AG Haycock draw good attendance. Rittman High Band Delivers Excellent Spring Concert

The Rittman High School band, in colorful new uniforms, gave an excellent spring concert Tuesday night in the high school auditorium. Under director Frederick Ebba the ensemble drew a capacity audience and showcased steady progress with selections including Somewhere Calling and Rosary. Rittman Draws Canfield In Kent Tournament

Rittman meets Canfield in the district tournament at Kent after winning the Ashland sectional. Nova defeated Frederickburg 37 31 to reach finals, while Rutnap Applecreek 33 16 fell in the semifinals. Ikey Ransier and Bob Simonton earned all tournament honors at Ashland.
