Three Arts Club Names Chairman
Mrs Aldra Kinch was appointed Civil Defense Chairman for the Three Arts Club at their Monday night meeting at Mrs Mary Frey's home. President Mrs Thelma Gwaltney reported $552 collected in the Cancer Fund Drive. Kathleen Hostetler announced 13 new books purchased with club funds for the library. Bernice Fry presented a program on Music And World Understanding with recordings from many countries. The hostess was assisted by Eunice Stentz. Next meeting will be a dinner at the Homestead Restaurant in Orrville.

Emmett F. Griner Dies After Illness at 65
Emmett F. Griner 65, of 67 S First St, died Saturday after two months illness. He was born near Smithville, longtime Rittman resident, and worked 30 years at Ohio Salt Co and 15 years as North ern Casket Co sales rep. Survivors include wife Alpha, daughter Vera Baker, sons Harry and Homer, sister Minnie Hershey, and step mother Mae Griner. Funeral at Milton Presbyterian Church Tuesday with Rev. Dwight B. Davidson. Burial in Rittman Cemetery.

Cub Scouts Celebrate 41st Anniversary Blue and Gold Banquet
Ninety nine Cub Scouts and parents attended the annual Blue and Gold Banquet at the Legion Home marking the 41st anniversary of Cubbing in Rittman. The event featured a cake with 41 candles, a welcome address by Murray Kissinger, a guest talk by W H Hauenstein of the Lions Club, a Den Chief badge presentation to Dick Gillman, and a play titled The Dagger performed by Den 1.

Thieves entered the Hugh Strickland Garage on East Chi Ave Tuesday night stealing 1395 dollars in cash and 11 car radios valued near 800 dollars. Entry was gained through a rear window. Rittman police and the Sheriff’s department are investigating the robbery.
