Saurer Allotment No 6 Underway in Rittman Development
Work has begun on Saurer Allotment No 6 final phase of Saurer Farm development in Rittman. Bodager Agency oversees most homes built and sold. The new 2 1/2 acre tract fronts Pleasant View Drive joining Saurer Road and providing access to the high school lot. Since 1955, Saurer allotments expanded to 96 lots with mostly two story bi level and split homes. Lots expected for sale and building by end of July with numerous local contractors active.

What's Wrong With Rittman City Summer Program Woes
City residents question neglected pool repairs and park programs in Rittman. Mothers lament the unpainted baby pool and hazardous cracked cement around the main pool while two tennis courts lack nets. Park crafts programs were dropped this year. many city facilities remain unused or poorly maintained. Local students and families, including Ambrose and Bodager families, voice concern as campers shift to a late June club camping event.

The Rittman Board of Education hired a new high school science teacher and head varsity football coach Eugene Brindise on a one year contract for 1973 74 and approved raises for Superintendent Stucky from 18885 to 20400 per year plus related stipends. Ashton Hall received extended time to serve as OWE Coordinator and Marlene Blachly got extra days to set up the Middle School Reading Center while program changes cut American Government to one semester and add Consumer Economics for seniors not attending JVS.

Virgil Trogdon 63 of College Street died Saturday at Wadsworth Rittman Hospital after a short illness born October 13 1909 in Wayne West Virginia to William and Elizabeth Trogdon he owned and operated Rittman Provision Grocery and later worked for Trogdons Grocery A deacon at Ridgewood Baptist Church he is survived by wife Lois two sons James of Rittman and Beaverton Oregon two daughters Ernestine of Rittman and Marlene Pratt of Rittman one brother Shirley of Aloha Oregon three sisters Myrtle Pack Emma Boyes and Ethel Bellamy all of Wayne West Virginia and twelve grandchildren Services were held at 1 30 pm Monday at Gillman Funeral Home with Rev Willis C Pollard and Rev Kenneth Spickard officiating Burial followed at Rittman Cemetery
