The general committee for the All-Wayne picnic at Wooster City Park on August 15 met in Wooster and set July 26 for another gathering. Plans include athletic events music booths and concessions with hopes for a national figure to speak if President Roosevelt cannot attend.

Families earn about 15 dollars weekly, milk costs 16 cents a quart, and federal aid is limited to servicemen families.
Scores of firms nationwide face penalties for Food Administration rule violations. Licenses suspended in some cases and contributions to groups like the Y M C A Red Chairs accepted in others. Common violations include selling flour without substitutes refusing delivery wrongly, operating without licenses, excess sugar sales, hoarding beyond 30 days, improper flour substitute usage in bread, and profiteering.
Army camp repair shops for clothing reduce new issue. A base shop reports average 2,831 garments repaired in the first 18 days of May. Estimates suggest a one third reduction in new clothing and a forty percent cut in new shoes.
