Claude Schwartz and Dolores Bendure obtained a marriage license in Wooster. The ceremony, likely in Wooster, unites Bendure daughter of C W Bendure of Rittman and Schwartz son of W W Schwartz. The couple will reside in Alliance and have many friends hoping for a long, happy life.
A fishing party from Rittman led by Dr C Gregg Russell Bender and John Fisher with Dick Fisher and Reuben Fisher left for Hastings Ontario. Reports indicate they arrived safely and caught good fish. A second group including C J Hilty and family John Kohler and family Mr and Mrs Ivan King and Harold Browm headed for Canadian woods for a different fishing trip.

Wooster Ohio June 17 Dr Charles F Wishart president of Wooster College urged students to maximize summer work stressing faith in God and others and joy in achievement. Prof John Olthouse announced the largest enrollment since the program became strictly collegiate, up 66 percent from last summer. Willard G Landis is among enrollees amid a planned recreational and social schedule led by Prof Karl Ver Steeg and a faculty student committee.
John Schlup III an aged citizen is under treatment for a nervous condition at the East Jackson sanitarium. The notice expresses hope for his recovery and return to town.

Mr and Mrs Ben Hershey with two children depart Monday for Strasburg Pennsylvania in a seven passenger Buick sedan. Accompanied by Mrs Hershey's aunt Lizzie Stoner and nieces Miss Mary Longenecker and Miss Marjorie Stoolmiller they plan extended summer visits with relatives, returning later in the week.
The Sunday school of the Presbyterian church will hold its annual picnic at Chippewa Lake on Saturday afternoon June 28. A gala time is planned with amusements for both parents and children and a representative crowd is expected.
A La Roy motorized circus truck collided with a Pennsylvania passenger train at Walnut Street crossing near Orrville on Saturday morning. Three occupants were killed and a fourth injured. the driver escaped with minor injuries. The crash near the depot left the truck demolished and debris scattered along the tracks. The company had performed in Orrville Friday night and in Rittman later.
In Milton township a driveway shared by two property owners sparked a common pleas case. Pavlie seeks to block Gettings from using the right of way after damages from a tractor and drainage breaks. A temporary injunction was granted pending a court resolution.
Miss Kathleen Hostotler daughter of Walter Hostotler editor of the Wadsworth Banner Press was guest of honor at a farewell supper for her sailing from Montreal on June 24 for a three month European trip. She travels with 31 others from Western Reserve College and Smith College under Professor Clara L Myers. The tour covers England Holland Belgium Germany Austria Switzerland and France and aims to be educational. The party presented Miss Hostotler with a Raycroft memory oak to record notes during travel.
Work on extending Ohto Avenue has started and contractors show creditable effort. The project arises from a petition to the commissioners to create another outlet and open desirable building lots along the new highway. Expected to greatly aid Rittman and area residents.
Captain T. D. Wolbach of Wadsworth, Civil War veteran and longtime friend of the editor, marked his birthday last week at his studio. A well known local photographer, he once served as the town’s sole photographer in Rittman and many portraits carry his name.
Assessor C D Petit reports for 1924 a personal property valuation of 400160, up from 393670 in 1923. Rittman is noted as one of few county subdivisions to gain. Countywide totals depend on upcoming binding valuations and assessor returns.
