The Weather Bureau in Washington issues a forecast for the Ohio Valley and Tennessee. A period starting Friday will continue intermittently through week end with above average temperatures.
The U B church hosts the Ministerial Institute and C E Convention from Monday to Friday with forenoon afternoon and evening sessions. Delegates from many counties attend with sermons papers and addresses by noted ministers including J I Hatten W W Moods Sager Tryon D D Patterson C C Gohn Ph D E E Burner L B Salmon. The event aims for a strong spiritual week in Rittman.
The Fizler family held its annual reunion Saturday at the Tra Bae home northeast of town with 54 present. Rev. Mc Cabren notes Mr. and Mrs. Boyer served an elaborate chicken dinner and children of the Boyer family contributed to the day’s happiness. A constable named John Kunkler reportedly ate two dinners and pled guilty when arraigned. A photographer from Akron covered the event and group photos were taken. The next reunion is planned for a future date.
Mr and Mrs Jule Goffinet and family of Farm er Douglas county Washington visit old friends near Sterling and Waterville. He left in 1881 as a poor boy to farm then moved west and prospered owning vast wheat lands. His brother August Goffinet and sister-in-law Mrs Widmer are noted. The piece recalls their rise from immigrant labor to wealth through farming.
Burglars entered several homes on Thursday including residences of W. G. Spade Fred Burger and Earl Dull. They took a small amount of cash and left minimal clues. Local police are investigating the incidents.
Three crews of ten men each lay out the canal route across Highland Park Wooster Allotment Sadsworth and Mr Cody's North Hinkley farm. Road location will prompt few changes and actual grading is expected by August 1.
Tax collectors will collect muton township Sterling School District and Rittman Village taxes at the bank after June 23 1915 and by July 3 1915. If paying in Sterling, collection occurs at Sterling Cash Grocery on June 29 1915. Rittman Savings Bank requests bring your last receipt.
Escaped from custody while being moved from Medina to Stark county workhouse after pleading guilty to burglary. Earlier arrested in Rittman for larceny and turned over to Sheriff Gehman of Medina. No officer accompanied their removal. Gehman has yet to locate them. Wooster News.
Iva Blough Kobiler born April 14, 1885 in Milton township died June 14, 1915 near Rittman at age 30. She married William Kohler in 1907 and left two children, plus her parents, three sisters, four brothers, and a surviving husband. Funeral services were held at Mt Zion Church, with interment in Mt Zion cemetery.
A Wooster Daily Republic report says Q. Barber plans a national education and agriculture school on his Barberton farm. He would fund 10 million for the school, 5 million for dormitories, plus the 2 million farm property. The school may be named after Barber, and details could be announced within 30 days.
The Cham pion and The Perils of Pauline headline weekend screenings with thrilling acts and high quality plays. After July 1 the house promises the best big plays on every evening at 15 cents and weekday nights at ten maybe. Sunday matinees offer Pauline reels and other features for 5 cents, aiming to attract summer patrons with cooling power thriven-transfers in a refreshed theater.
Grant Wright and his wife traveled to Akron Sunday to visit the Wright family, accompanying the former’s parents. Mrs. Wright returned to Akron Monday morning while Mr. Wright stayed a few days. A bakery sale by Bir Wright is noted and Peter Peterman lost his site.
