Former Rittman Head Named Ashland College President
Mason, formerly dean and head of Ashland College's education department and Rittman School head from 1921 to 1925, was chosen as Ashland College president on Tuesday afternoon with a two year contract. He succeeds Dr C L Anspach as president of Central State Teachers College. Mason joined the Ashland faculty in 1925 after teaching at Mount Carmel in Illinois. He earned an AB from Defiance College and an MA from Ohio State University and has three children including daughter Shirley who recently graduated from Ashland.

Funeral services for Margaret Shaffer, 75, former dress maker of Wooster, who died in Massillon, were held today at 1 30 p m at A L Ebert Funeral home with Rev C J McGee officiating. Burial followed in Oak Grove cemetery Smithville. John Kohler of Rittman was her guardian. No survivors.

Albert Cordas of Barberton has been named coach of the first Akron Barberton all star weight lifting team. Common Pleas Court Settles With Mrs Booth in Ohio Suit
A settlement worth several thousand dollars was reached in Mrs Margaret Booth of Sterling formerly of Rittman against the Industrial Commission of Ohio. The case, linked to her husband John Booth’s death on October 1 1935 from alleged heat exhaustion at work, concluded at Wooster after a noon recess. The jury verdict favoring Booth had occurred earlier, the suit remanded for a new trial by the Court of Appeals. Terms were not disclosed.

38 Seniors Leave Monday For Washington D C
Thirty eight members of the class of 1939 of Stittman High school left Monday morning for a trip to Washington D C. Gettysburg was the first stop. The group set up headquarters at a Washington tourist camp and returned to Rittman late Thursday.
