Three Fires Doused by Rittman Volunteers
Rittman firefighters battled three brush fires over the past week. The first warded off a woods blaze at West Sunset and North Metzger using a grass truck in a gulley. A second grass-fire at the city dump was extinguished after 10 a.m. Sunday. A third blaze occurred Tuesday at 11 10 a.m. on Route 504 just outside city limits.
