Ohio highway workers paint yellow no passing lines on roads
Workmen of the Ohio department of highways cover 18 000 miles of state roads with white black and yellow stripes to guide drivers. A yellow no passing line appears where sight distances are under 600 feet or other hazards exist. Vehicles may not cross into oncoming lanes where the yellow stripe is in the driver's lane unless overtaking can be completed safely. The four inch yellow stripe is being painted along sections deemed dangerous for passing.
