At an adjourned council session on Monday evening the bid from Peters and Baird of Wadsworth for grading Main Street was accepted. The bid price was 30 cents per yard, with competing bids at 39 and 54 cents.

The Standard Oil Company workers stayed at W. J. Whitman's home to remove a go-devil obstacle clogging a local pipeline south of town. Workers cut the pipe last Wednesday, releasing hundreds of gallons of crude oil, which residents salvaged for storage.
