David Wright, owner of the Ben Franklin store in Rittman, visits a new million dollar warehouse and distribution center in Stow Ohio operated by Butler Brothers a division of City Products Corporation. The 215000 square foot facility serves 221 franchised stores and 22 company owned Scott variety stores in Ohio western New York western Pennsylvania and eastern Michigan under GM F J Basso. It spans 10 acres and features 120 docks and rail siding for shipments, plus support for displays promotions and inventory control.

The Wayne County mobile X ray unit comes to Rittman Monday June 12. It will park north of the square at City Hall or Ohio Edison from 9 30 am to 12 30 and 1 30 pm to 5 pm. A dollar fee applies to all under 65 while those 65 and older receive free chest X rays. Sponsored by the Wayne County Tuberculosis and Health Association.

Memorial Day Flights Over Wadsworth Parade
On Memorial Day sunlit ceremonies began with a parade to Woodlawn Cemetery. Eight planes from Wadsworth Airport performed passes over Wadsworth and Sharon Center before George Steele dropped a wreath from a plane piloted by Dan Weltzien. Afterward the airmen joined for coffee and sandwiches at Akron Municipal Airport. A June 18 flying rodeo and parachute jumps are planned at Wadsworth Airport with Wadsworth Airmen's Association members participating.

Rotarians at the Rittman club luncheon heard a Father’s Day program by three young women Jane Melenbacker Barbara Lewis and Barbara Hauenstein with piano accompaniment by Marcia Harris. They sang several pieces and were tutored by Mrs William Davis Jr who acted as mistress of ceremonies. The group is sponsored by Rittman Rotary.
