Rittman students earn Milligan and Bowling Green diplomas
Rex H. Bell graduates from Milligan College with a Bachelor of Arts in musk major as part of the 94th commencement on May 19, 1974. Wittenberg freshman Brian Bodager from Rittman earns a Phi Eta Sigma honor society chapter membership. Commencement at Bowling Green State University on June 8 includes several Rittman and nearby area diploma recipients. Jack Winkler of Rittman receives a football scholarship grant to Michigan Technological University. Merry Mixers meet June 12 at Dora Wright’s Sterling Avenue residence.

Doris M Zimmerly 65, former Rittman resident, died May 21 1974 in a St Petersburg Florida nursing home. She moved from Wadsworth Ohio and belonged to High Point United Methodist Church and the Honeybelles. Survivors include four daughters Sylvia Trull Margaret Wilson Donna Wilson ten grandchildren two sisters a brother and other relatives. Services were at Moss Lakeside Chapel with burial at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. Donations to the American Cancer Society.

Disaster siren tested to start June as city upgrades
Fire Chief Lawrence Cline announced a new electronic siren installed on the city building as part of a two-signal warning system. The disaster signal will be tested on the first Thursday of each month starting June 6, immediately after the regular fire signal test.
