County library group to map plans for county representation
The County Mayors Committee added West Salem Mayor William Turner and Rev Thomas Blank to its roster and will meet next Tuesday at 7 30 pm at Wooster Library. They discuss proposing county status for the library board to better represent county towns Creston Doylestown Rittman and Shreve and to possibly place the issue on the ballot for the November election.

Fire claims Rittman man Wesley Money investigated
County Fire Marshal and arson squad from Cleveland continue a days long inquiry into the fire that killed Wesley Money at his 178 North State Street home in Rittman. The 44 year old printer for Ohio Boxboard Co. is survived by a wife Marie two sons and three daughters with services held at Gillman Funeral Home. Interment followed at Rittman Cemetery.

Robert Lehman, long time pharmacist at Stepfield's Pharmacy in Rittman, has acquired Cook Pharmacy in Chardon, Ohio, and took ownership last week. His family and 14 Stepfield staff attended a Barbecued Chicken Supper in their honor at North Fourth Street home. He plans to relocate his wife and two children to Chardon soon.

Alexander elected to head Legion Post in Rittman
George Alexander was elected Commander of Howard Bair American Legion Post 423 Monday evening. Wayne Ferrer and Warren Hardgrove were named first and second vice presidents with Emil Firtschaplin, Robert Steiner as set at arms and Harry Ditch as trustee. Dale Rohrer re elected acting treasurer and John Hodovan and Robert Steiner were chosen delegates to the state convention in Columbus July 17 19. Alternates named were Walt Summers and Ed Ramster. The Legion firing squad visited six area cemeteries Memorial Day to honor the war dead. Plans for the Carni fair scheduled July 15 19, sponsored by the Legion with the Firemen and Lions, were discussed.

First Brethren Church runs a two week session 7 to 8 30 p m Monday to Friday ending June 13 with the theme Exploring Gods Wonders. Daily Vacation Bible School meets at North Street School at 9 a m until June 13.
