Proposal to Place County Library Board on Ballot
Wayne County Commissioners will hear a resolution from the Mayors Library Committee to place a county-wide library board on the next general election ballot. The group seeks county representation on the Wooster City Library Board, after the Wooster board rejected a non voting advisory county seat. The State Librarian advised that county districts improve service, and the measure notes the county funds about half the intangible taxes for library services.

County Library Board Faces Representation Debate

County leaders call the move discriminatory, noting many current appointees lack library experience. The mayoral panel lists local officials and civic reps from Kidron and nearby villages.
