The Village of Rittman Ohio approves a 200 dollar emergency appropriation to the Water Fund for extending the Sheldon Street main under ordinance 418. The measure aims to ensure fire protection and public health, effective immediately upon passage with publication May 27 and June 3 in 1820.
The Village of Rittman Ohio passes Ordinance 422 to issue six thousand dollars in bonds for purchasing and condemning land for parks playgrounds and boulevard purposes and for improving the same. Bonds bear 6 percent interest payable semi annually with specified repayment dates through 1937. The process includes offering at par to sinking fund trustees then to the village school district and finally to the State Liability Board if unclaimed. The clerk must certify annual interest needs to the Wayne County Auditor.
The document details bond issuance for park land, fund setup to discharge principal, and a levy rate calculation by the county auditor. Proceeds from bond sales go to the village Park fund to purchase or condemn parks and playground land. premiums and interest go to the sinking fund trustees. The ordinance takes effect after law allows. Passed May 3, 1920.
The Ohio state auditor sent notice to Wayne county that the 1920 state school levy on the duplicate is one and eight tenths mills. A new levy of one mill for school purposes to create a county school fund was authorized, and one half mill is to be placed on the duplicate for the state highway improvement fund.
