Rittman Principal Heter to Receive Ed D at Western Reserve
Rittman high school principal John R Heter will receive an education doctorate at Western Reserve University in Cleveland on June 16. He earned his master’s at Ohio University in 1954 and finished a six week residency at Western Reserve plus weekly classes over five semesters. His thesis on the Small Independent School District in Ohio and District Reorganization was prepared as a basis for state legislative consideration now tied to bills 462 and 810. Heter credits Superintendent W H Hauenstein and others for support as he balanced duties with research.

Rittman High School will honor 104 seniors at the commencement ceremony Thursday at 8 p.m. Dr Byrle Shoemaker of the Ohio Department of Education will deliver the commencement address, with Linda Parman giving the class address. X ray Unit to Visit Rittman June 14
