Girl Scout Carnival Draws Large Rittman Crowd

About 1000 people attended a Girl Scout band carnival in Rittman Saturday night after a rain delay from Friday. Miss Edna Jeffries led the event with a local band providing music and the girls selling carnival novelties and hot dogs, netting roughly 7 dollars with expenses around 150 dollars.

Benches gifted for the park delight locals

The Sunday act bol picnic of the UK church at Chippewa Lake drew about 200 attendees on a hot afternoon. Food ranged from numerous varieties, and a tug of war among teams lasted five minutes before heavyweights won. Autos provided transportation to the picnic followed by a 530 o clock dinner.

Christ Kabel Injured After Hay Wagon Fall

Mr Christ Kabel suffered a severe accident last Saturday when he fell about ten feet from a hay wagon while making hay. He landed on his head and injured his neck along with minor bruises. He is confined to his home three miles southwest of Futtman, mostly in bed, with an early recovery expected.

Last Friday Ralph Krabill assistant cashier of the bank was on a business trip when his Ford overturned in front of the M E Lange home. The occupant was uninjured no damage to the car. Krabill escaped from under the car and it was righted and driven away under its own power.
