Arizona cousin Miss Edith Guthrie delightfully entertained ten girls in honor of her cousin Miss Haroldene Schmidt of Phoenix last Monday. An enjoyable afternoon featured games and refreshments as Schmidt visited the Guthrie home with Mr and Mrs John H Guthrie.
Tuesday evening in the south end of town K AL Abey of Akron rammed another car causing minor damage. He was directed not to pass the city battle and fled, then overtaken at Wadworth by the marshal and jailed awaiting trial. Possible charges include resisting an officer possession of havor or reckless driving. The man is a former butcher at a Rittman store.
Mr and Mrs Jacob Beck and family relocate their household goods to Findlay Ohio for temporary residence. They previously lived in Rittman for years and are held in high esteem by those who know them. Mr Beck was employed at the Ghic Boxboard Co. Friends extend best wishes for their happiness in the new surroundings.
The administrator's sale of the late Mrs. John Petit property on First Street concluded with Arthur Goffinet as the successful bidder at 4950 dollars. The property includes four family apartments. Relatives from St. Louis and local residents were noted at the event.
Wenger and Mrs Cherie Wenger with Mr and Mrs U M Wenger returned from Traverse City Michigan after a fishing trip. They reported good catches and a heavy haul. The trip started early and ended in record time with a detour for dinner and supper before reaching Wenger Station in the late afternoon.
A marriage license warning was issued for William Campbell Jr and Misa Rider of Wadsworth on June 4. Campbell is son of William Campbell of Fifth Street and employed at Ohio Boxboard Co. Rider is daughter of Charles Rider and a former Ohio Match Co. employee. They plan to reside in Michigan where Campbell has work.
The Pythisn Sleters spent a pleasant afternoon at the home of Mrs W S Saunders in Wooster on Tuesday. Ladies enjoyed spring cake and a cafeteria style lunch. The hostess served hot baked beans and meat loaf. Seventeen attended from Rittman.
Mr F Hart a Rittman schools teacher and summer painter fell from a ladder while painting the Rhine Bros property at Ohio Avenue and Second Street. He suffered an arm injury, a facial laceration, and required medical attention including multiple bandage placements. Dr Shong is attending.
The W T U will hold a picnic at the park on Wednesday July 10 with a noon meal. A brief business meeting at 1 30 followed by a proprai ce. The L T Es lend mothers invited. Please bring a covered dish. Coffee and lemonade furnished. Everyone urged to attend for a good time.

Betty Beck hosted sixteen young people last Friday evening at a courtesy party. She and her parents Mr and Mrs Jacob Beck left Monday for their new home in Findlay Ohio. A luncheon was served and during the event Miss Beck received a pair of earrings with a matching bracelet and a cameo pin. Betty was popular with the younger group who shed real tears at her departure.
Birth announcements list several newborns including a son to Mr and Mrs Fidgar Lambert born on Sunday at St. a boy. Mr and Mrs John Eggemaan south of town welcomed a boy. Cora Gammel of North State Street reported a girl. Mrs Ray Holter celebrated a Sunday birth of a boy.
A group of 18 girls and 17 boys received their first holy communion at Bt Ann s Church Sunday. The Rev Father Charles Oulmet administered the sacrament. A large attendance from Sterling and Creston participated in the services.
Businessmen Schreiber Oberdutky Wald Kaufman Escovitz and Petit display window cards in their shops declaring closure each Wednesday afternoon during July and August. They are engaged in similar lines of business and will observe the summer hours.
Mr and Mrs Andrew Bernikers and Mrs Berniker of Mt Vernon attended Massillon Sunday afternoon for their nephew Louis Kremplé entering priesthood at St Marys Parish. Father Kremplé celebrated his first mass marking a family milestone with the Garrets.
Mr and Mrs J B Galehouse departed for Magnetic Springs Wednesday morning where Mrs Galehouse will stay for a period to improve her health James Galehouse plans to return next Saturday.
