Mother of Rittman Man Buried at Creston Sat
Funeral services for Mrs. Harvey Yoder mother of Franklin Yoder of Fifth Street were held Saturday afternoon at the Murray funeral home in Creston. Interment followed at Geyer’s chapel. Mrs. Yoder age 55 died at the family home north of Hermanville Wednesday evening after a period of illness. Survivors include her husband four children and eight grandchildren.

Weekend firefighters handle two blazes in town and country
Firemen were called twice over the weekend. Friday at 11 30 a m a grass fire on the Landis property near the Square was halted before reaching the municipal building. Mayor Galehouse and Marshal Morgan pledged an investigation into rubbish burning on the lot. Sunday at 4 p m a muck fire on the F A Mullet farm west of Sterling burned fence posts for four hours as dry weather and strong winds fed the flames. Chief Winkler and crew drew water from the Croston Sterling ditch to extinguish it while a large crowd followed the first out of town run of the year.
