Wooster College Men's Glee Club Concert announced

The Wooster College Men’s Glee Club of 25 under Prof B C Taker will perform February 3 at the High School Auditorium. The group toured during the holidays to Belle Vernon Pittsburgh New Bethlehem Du Bois Niagara Falls Lewiston Albion and Buffalo with enthusiastic receptions. Admission is 60 cents for adults and 26 cents for students.

Iodized Salt Promoted For Pigs By Iowa Professor

Prof John Evward, known as the bogman of Iowa, urges iodized salt in pig feeds to prevent goiter like in humans. He cites hairless pig cases in Montana and Idaho due to iodine deficiency and notes a tiny iodine amount suffices to improve thyroid development in sows.

Marshallville Man Seeks Divorce From Elia Orr

Marshallville resident William M Orr filed suit for divorce alleging gross neglect of duty. The couple married January 22 1924 and have no children. Orr previously withdrew a December suit after reconciliation when his wife returned from Mississippi. Attorney Daniel C Funk represents Orr.

Wooster Man Named Trustee of Kent Normal School

J. D. Overholt of Wooster was named by Governor Donahey as a trustee of Kent Normal School. He succeeds the late D. C. Wills of Cleveland. Overholt is president of Wooster Rubber Company and noted for executive ability.

Annual Federation Ball in Wadsworth

The Federation of Women’s Clubs hosts an annual ball at The Ohio Match Company gymnasium in Wadsworth on Friday evening February 6 1926. Proceeds fund the town library dedicated by Mrs Ella M Everhard widow of Dr Everhard. a $1 per couple charge applies. Rittman citizens receive an urgent invitation to attend.

The Toreadors Monthly Meeting Reports Progress

The Toreadors club held its monthly meeting in the club rooms with reports from the president and secretary on finances and plans. The charter closes at 30 members, new furnishings were purchased, and members praised community support while aiming to promote fellowship.

Judge Starn Addresses Buckeye Lawyers Tonight

Judge Starn will address the State Bar Association in the Hotel Linton Cincinnati on Thursday January 28. His topic is An Independent Judiciary Independent of Blocs Party or Powers. Members will meet in midwater session, hold a banquet, and transact business the next forenoon.

Inter-county Rittman-Wadsworth road hearing set

A February hearing at the Me din county courthouse will decide making the Rittman-Wadsworth road an inter-county highway. Wayne, Medina and Cuyahoga counties will send representatives. The proposed route runs from Portage road south of Rittman north to Rittman then along the new road to Cleveland via Sharon. The six miles in Wayne, 22 in Medina and 10 in Cuyahoga counties are noted.

Wayne County Man to Speak During Farm Week at Ohio Farm Bureau

EO Rehm service manager of the Wayne County Farm Bureau will address the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation during Farm Week at Ohio State University in Columbus. He will discuss cooperatively purchased feed distribution and farm bureau service work on Monday afternoon. The federation’s seventh annual convention runs February 1 and two days of events, with talks by leaders from the National Farm Bureau and Orange Discussion of farm legislation pending in Washington will also be covered. A special program for farm women is planned.

Wedding Dinner for Mr and Mrs Irving McKean

Mrs Rosa Blatter entertained her family at a wedding dinner Sunday honoring Mr and Mrs Irving McKean of Akron. The bride, Emma P Blatter, taught in local schools and later served as assistant postmistress before training as a nurse at Akron City Hospital. She plans to stay until July and has obstetrical training in Chicago and New York. Mr McKean works at the Akron post office. The couple hoped to keep their marriage secret but it became known, and friends extend hearty congratulations.

Community Auction Sale At The Barns Friday January 29

The regular monthly community auction sale will be held at the barns next to Dohner's garage. Holsteins and Guernseys dairy cows and two span of mules are among five stock. Merchants offer discounts to buyers. don't forget to sue the merchants before leaving town. The cows speak for themselves.

This week Thursday to Saturday a circus and bazaar will be held in the Realty block by the American Legion. Iron dancing each evening. The whole family is invited. Six prizes will be given away each night. Attendance is encouraged.

The county board of education held its first meeting of the year and reelected D. E. McIlvaine as president and named A. A. Weygandt as vice president. The session covered routine business with full board in attendance. A Wooster Men’s Glee Club concert is set for February 3 at the auditorium.
