Fourth Ritman Lyceum course well received at Th School

The Murphers entertained at the Th School auditorium last Tuesday evening showing high class acts with new stunts and musical numbers. Mrs Morphet played saxophone and Mr Morphet the cornet. Mrs Ebert presided at the piano. The audience was well fed and pleased. The next program features the Rounds Ladies Orchestra on Thursday April 5.

Dependable Furniture Store Opens Large City Sale

The Dependable Furniture Store held one of the city’s largest furniture sales last Friday starting before dawn. Crowds waited for first pick of high quality goods at reduced prices and sales continued briskly all day. The sale ends Saturday February 3. The Press notes the store advertised with a page ad and tills.

Real Estate On The Move In Rittman Transfers The Past Week

Alphus Goffinet purchased the old Catholic church site from Arthur Pierce. The largest deal was the transfer of the W H Wright property on Main Street to D H Steiner. Steiner will remodel the house and add a garage. C Wenger and wife of Clinton will move to Rittman after purchasing the E G Branigan property on North Fourth Street. They are parents of John Marvin Robert and Mrs W G Spade and welcome in the community.

Shook Attends Ohio Retail Lumber Dealers Convention

W. R. Shook leaves today for Columbus to attend the Ohio Association of Retail Lumber Dealers convention January 24 25 26. He will depart by special train for an extended trip through the South. The lumber dealers anticipate a very enjoyable and profitable trip.

Grissinger Goffinet Trial Set For Friday Afternoon

The suit brought by Frank Grissinger to recover 75 dollars from Alphus Goffinet, claimed as security for the debt, will be tried before Justice McElroy Friday afternoon. Jurors named include W. R. Shook J. H. Fisher C. W. Hoover Will Brenneman J. H Smith and F. W. Fredrick. Attorneys Geo. Starn represents Grissinger and Karl S. Hoover represents Goffinet.

Wayne County Fair Dates For 1917 Revealed

Bechtel's Concert Band Elects Officers and Plans Growth

At the first quarterly meeting Bechtel's Concert Band elected Hernan Roth as president Reno Hardgrove as vice president and J Hammels as treasurer along with new trustees Amos Carpenter Chas Bruney and Noy Noth. The treasurer reported funds totaling 1716.32 in working assets with 293.92 in currency and 1422.00 property value. The group plans new uniforms for summer and invites new members to join by visiting the leader or the KOO TOM on Tuesdays.

Shooting Fray in Ritman Leaves One Wounded

Reports say a shooting occurred near Ritman around 8 pm on Wednesday. A man was taken to Wooster hospital with serious injuries following an exchange between two groups. one suspect fled toward town and a witness aided officers at the scene.

Poverty Party for Presbyterian Class Aims at Piano Fund

Last Saturday evening the G B. C. W class of the Presbyterian church held a poverty party with about forty guests in costume. They sang in partners for a bountiful supper, then held a business meeting electing officers for six months and planning monthly gatherings to raise funds for a piano for the Sunday School. Mr. Chas. Rohrer was elected President and Miss Martha Wells Secretary and Treasurer, with a social committee chaired by C. C. Dieter.
