In a session after the Monday meeting the council met with the REA attorney to discuss 10 contract items details. Election Board Ends Probe on Local Election Irregularities
Wayne County Election Board concluded no illegal ballot tampering occurred in last November's local elections. Board member Bob Hershey said a ballot box was opened briefly as ballots were counted and two blank ballots may have stuck together, but ballots were not touched. The box was opened only to check the count and did not affect the mayoral race. The board plans enhanced training for primary voting to prevent future irregularities.

Authorities investigated with several residents reporting unlocked doors, broken windows, and missing electronics, coins, jewelry, and a CB unit.
