Businessmen of Rittman Ohio petition the Baltimore and Ohio Council to install electric lighting for waiting passengers at the eastbound stop. They urge relief from cold, dark shelters and call on officials to assume responsibility for suffering travelers and nearby residents. The Rittman Council meets Tuesday with Main Street survey and electric light debate on the agenda.
Following the annual meeting of the Ohio State Board of Agriculture in Columbus, a series of Country Life Institutes will be held in many parts of the state. Wooster is on the schedule for January 17 18 with noted speakers and an invitation extended to all interested in country life betterment.
Boxboard plant pipe fitter Mike Onderack fell fifteen feet while working on Thursday. He sustained severe bruises but no internal injuries were found. He is described as a good workman and is missed by colleagues. Last reports indicate he is improving.

Ohio reports 1,231,946 school children aged six to twenty one with 630,500 boys and 601,446 girls. Enrollment lists 431,500 boys and 420,450 girls.
The Serum Plant twelve miles east of Columbus nears completion with aims to wipe out hog cholera in Ohio. Farmers attend institutes testing soil and corn moisture with litmus and Babcock testers. A. P. Sanoves, Secretary.
Gospel meetings are scheduled Thursday and Friday evenings and Sunday at 2 o clock afternoon. Rev W H Williams pastor of Wesleyan Methodist church in Massillon is expected this week. Everybody is welcome.
A monkey and a Scotch terrier tied together escaped from their home in London and fled through Shoe Lane to Snow Hill, pursued by a crowd and captured by two city constables.
Delayed Christmas notes describe Mr. Ray Ashbrook and wife hosting a dinner in Marengo with four generations present including Jennie Bingham, L. G. Doyle, Doris Mae Ashbrook, and others. The gathering also mentions Chas Shook and family visiting Eugene Branigan, Fay Shook with friends near Medina, and further Christmas visits by Dull and Simcox families in Homer, Barberton, and Seville.
A 70th birthday celebration at Elias Conrad's Pleasant View home featured a six o'clock dinner for twenty eight invited guests. Attendees included L. J. Kindig and family of Akron Harold Conrad of Marion and Rittman guests F. E. Harter and family Bert Kindig Chas Conrad J.T Johnson and family Forest Kindig Wm. Conrad J. W. and J. H. Parsons.
