The homes of A. J. Grant Russell Welling and Harley Boling were named winners at the Rittman Civic Association holiday lighting contest during the January City Hall meeting. Precinct 6 featured the Grant home at 3rd Street with elaborate multicolor lighting, while the John Rohrer residence at W Ohio Avenue and First Street placed a close second in blue lights. Louis Gigandet Dies Here at 75
Louis John Gigandet died at his home on Sterling Ave on Friday December 31 at 11 30 AM. Funeral services were held Monday January 3 at St Ann s Catholic Church with burial in St Ann s cemetery. He was 75, a lifelong resident of Stark County and Rittman, a contractor by trade and a longtime St Ann s parishioner. He was survived by four children Mrs S Quimby Jerome sville Ohio Mrs Ed Wheeler Rittman Eddie Gigandet Cleveland and Mrs Nelson Deery Akron. Funeral arrangements were by ATL Ebertor Rittman.
