S. S. Hummell, once of Rittman, now a top county hatchery operator. He moved to Jackson six years ago and expanded from a small outfit to hatch at least 50,000 thoroughbred chicks this spring. His high quality chicks are used by other hatchers to strengthen their flocks.
The Pythian Sisters met in regular session on Wednesday evening. One candidate was initiated and refreshments were served by Mesdames Hard grove Halliwill Hall and Heiks. A handkerchief shower was given to Mrs. John Hickin who departs next week for several months on the west coast visit.
