Scout Fund Drive Nears $900 Goal in Rittman
The 2nd annual Rittman Scout Organization fund drive is set to exceed $900. Audi tor Len Over reported subscriptions to Drive Chairman F. O. Kanehl, with $870 already in from individuals, organizations and businessmen. House-to-house solicitation continues through the week to aid nearly 200 scouts in 1947. George Coheman chairs the overall group and Mrs. Ralph Gwaltney is treasurer. Don Jones and Len Over, auditors with the National Association of Cost Accountants, volunteered.

Council Sues Erie Over S Main Street Crossing
At a Monday meeting the village council authorized Solicitor C E Rhonemus to protest to the State Utilities Commission against the Erie Railroad for the dangerous S Main street crossing after two recent accidents near schools and a taxi driver. The council also approved sewer construction on Fairlawn street Sunset Drive Frederick Street and East Sunset Drive with property owners covering four fifths of the cost.
