Funeral services were held Monday in Creston for Ralph Edward Easterday 54 father of Terry Easterday of Rittman. He died Friday and was born in Sterling and lived most of his life in Creston. Survivors include wife, son Donald, mother Rena Webb, granddaughter, sister and brothers. Blatter named to assist in hospital lease with Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital Association.

City officials in Rittman consider joining the Metropolitan Housing Authority hud program to provide affordable rentals for seniors and low income residents. City Manager Gosney and Mayor Hall outline steps including code adoption surveys funding and interest from local business groups.

Dr John R Heter former Rittman High School principal will join Baldwin Wallace College as associate professor of education in September. He led Rittman High from 1959 to 1966 and earned his doctorate in educational administration while in that district. He previously taught and counseled at Bellevue High and graduated magna cum laude from Heidelberg College in 1951.
Stephen Solomonson of Bredbyn Sweden, a Rotary exchange student at North Canton, will sing at an Eastern Star meeting Thursday at 7 30. He was a classmate of Rittman Rotary exchange student Eric S Derstrom of Ornskoldsvik who now lives with Mr and Mrs Vernon Yoho. Mrs Yoho is Eastern Star worthy matron and Mr Yoho is worthy patron.
Fund drive directed by Mrs Joseph O'Connor and Mrs Richard Britton in Rittman. More than 60 women assist in the door to door campaign.
