Press plant sale to Michigan men announced
The Rittman Publishing Company and its papers the Rittman Press Maple Heights Press and Bedford Times Register were sold to Amos Battenfield and Lin Williams both from Michigan. The buyers plan no personnel changes except replacing Frey and Alexander and set a March 30 takeover. They aim to move families to Rittman and promise strong service and renewed energy for readers and advertisers.

Gloria Wright was chosen to attend Girls' State with Esther Swartz as her alternate. The Lions Club sponsor announced the selection at Monday’s regular meeting. Girls' State will convene in June at Cap itol University in Columbus to study government through hands on learning.

Former resident Harley Kaser dies at 64
Harley L. Kaser 64 of 511 Trease Road Wadsworth died Sunday at Wooster Community Hospital after a month of illness. He was born in Holmes County and lived in the Rittman and Wadsworth areas 35 years. Survived by wife Maggie four daughters and seven grandchildren two siblings. services held Tuesday at Hilliard Funeral Home. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
