Rittman high girls advanced to the Wayne county tournament semi finals by defeating Chester 38 to 13 and Sterling 27 to 16. They meet Fredericksburg at Wooster College gym Saturday while the Rittman boys fell 17 to 16 to Big Prairie in the second round after a 33 to 11 first round win over West Salem.

Death of June Ruth Hinds Follows Illness in Renova
June Ruth Hinds aged fifteen from Kenova West Virginia died February 22 1931 at State Street home after a long fight with tuberculosis She attended Rittman schools until 1930 then left in the eighth grade Born June 7 1915 in Kenova she was buried beside her father in Kenova Those surviving are her mother a brother and a sister A floral tribute came from the school.

Former Rittman Boy Arrested for Burglary in Wadsworth
Carl Martin, 21, of Wadsworth, arrested there Wednesday for burglary of Curtis Grocery in Wadsworth. He had formerly lived in Rittman. A night watchman fired at him Monday night as he fled. Martin was traced via a doctor who treated his arm. He confessed to seven burglaries according to authorities. Lucas could not connect him to Rittman robberies.

Last Saturday a transfer of the Good & Bicksler furniture stock at Wadsworth was made to Gensemers of Medingz. They will operate as Gensemer & Son. The undertaking business of the firm moved to Finefrock's of Canal Fulton and will continue in Wadaworth. The remaining unsold stock is the Rittman store, with negotiations underway to sell it. Hamilton remains in charge of the Rittman store.

Elyria Man Undergoes Leg Amputation for Gangrene
Corne lius Normandas of Elyria, father of Mrs E E Mills, is seriously ill in an Elyria hospital with diabetes. He was operated on Tuesday to remove part of his right leg after gangrene set in. He is 67 years old and Mrs Mills has kept vigil at his bedside throughout the week.

Runaway Boy Finds Friend in Brooklyn Aid from Community
Ed Mills in Brooklyn helps 16 year old Clarence Hausa who rode two months on the road after leaving Rittman. Police in Rittman kept him until Ed offered care and a home or at least meals and shelter. Community Chest and Township Trustees funded his railroad fare to Brooklyn. Clarence plans to write Ed and mail a scout knife.

The Rotary club hosted a speaker this week with Heppert of Bayerton discussing Friendship and received strong appreciation. John Weiser of Wooster spoke on Red Cross work and cited Rittman’s per capita contribution of about 3.44 dollars amounting to about 100 dollars. Winters of Catton and Frank Snyder attended as visitors and an inter-city meeting in Wooster is planned for 6:30 p m next Wednesday with Apron Brownell of Cleveland as speaker.
