Father Frey Buried at Doylestown Church
Requiem Mass honored Father John H Frey 79 pastor of SS Peter and Paul in Doylestown. He died after a short illness at the parish house. He came to the parish in 1983 and oversaw building of a new hall, four school rooms, and a convent. Burial was in St. Marys Cemetery Elyria. Survived by three sisters Sister Assumption Humility of Mary Louise Pfeiffer and Helen Kolopus.

Jaycees Honor Local Winners At Rittman Awards Dinner
Rittman Jaycees held their annual awards dinner at the Town and Country Restaurant in Canton with wives as guests. Sam Bauman Steve Bruton Cliff Phillips and Tom Faber received the Spoke Award while Kenneth Stiner Nelson Howell and Ken Selbee earned the Spark Plug Award. A chamber meeting is planned and members will sell trash can liners as a special project.

Services were held Wednesday in Seville for Clara G Barnhart former Sterling postmistress. She died at Wooster Community Hospital after five weeks as a patient. Born in Wayne County she spent most of her life in the area. Survived by brother Seymour Fetzer of Wooster. Burial at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Rev C P Tozer officiated.

Rittman High School students Rhonda Pickens and Karen Mikkelsen joined peers from Wayne County as state representatives during a Youth In Government program in Columbus. They toured the House Finance Committee hearing room led by Rep. Ralph Fisher and met Gov. Rhodes, Auditor Roger Cloud, Secretary of State, and state senators.
