Trucker Narrowly Escapes as Train Hits Load Near Sterling Crossing
Carter of Creston and his basket laden truck were struck by Erie Train No 8 at the Sterling Avenue crossing Saturday about 10 oclock. The engine tore baskets from the rear of the truck but Carter escaped injury and drove on. damage was slight and the train stopped for inspection. The incident fuels support for a new street connecting Sterling Avenue and Elliott Street.

Old Resident Kindig Dies at Rittman Farm
Marion Franklin Kindig died Saturday at his farm home east of Rittman after months of illness. The 68 year old, born May 27 1852 on the same farm, left a wife and several children. Funeral at St. Ann's Church with burial in Doylestown Catholic Cemetery.
