Clarke Murphy heard two California stations on a Fada 160 radio in a drug store last Saturday night. KGO Oakland and KHG Los Angeles came in though only Oakland was clear on the loud speaker for about an hour. St Clair and Ernest Wilson also heard California signals Saturday night.

Miss Ethel Gatehouse recently took a teaching post in Euclid Village and spent the weekend with her mother. Rosal Severes of Canal Fulton visited with friends near town. Esther Whitman vacationed with her sister in Canal Fulton. Mr and Mrs W J Gill entertained at home. The second Doylestown high lecture was held in the new auditorium. Mr and Mrs Joseph Kist moved to Akron. Local youngsters traveled to Rittman to entertain the Rittman Grange with a varied program and a lunch after.

Rittman Men Given Liquor Fine in Wadsworth Case

Three Rittman men were arrested Sunday east of Wadsworth on an intoxication charge after driving into a ditch and overturning their car. The driver, C. Parks, received a 2600 fine and costs. the other two paid 10 plus costs each. arraigned before Mayor Falk in Wadsworth. Names of the other occupants could not be learned.

Mrs John Kunkler broke her wrist after slipping on a street in Wadsworth while on business related to her mother in law's death. She sought medical care, continued her trip, and returned home by Erie train 15. She is improving as expected.

Well Known Wooster Man Dies

George J Schwartz prominent Wooster figure and bird lover died suddenly Friday morning in a Wooster hardware store. He served as curator of the Wooster Museum and trustee of Wooster College and the public library. Funeral services were held Monday at his home conducted by Dr. J Frank Jackson and Wooster Commandery Knights Templars. Interment in Wooster cemetery.

Village Council Proceedings Discuss Rates and Engineer

The village council met in regular session with all members present. After approving the prior minutes, they hired city engineer R A Fredrick of Wadsworth and passed an ordinance fixing his compensation. They considered CC and S El Co rate proposals, adjusting the tiered KW charges and minimums, then adjourned.

Smoyer Marble Nuptials Held At Home

Monday evening at 7 30 Rev R I Platter performed the marriage vows between Irene Smoyor and Vincent Marble at Henry Smoyor’s home. The witnesses were KK R Marble and family and Henry Smoyor. Irene is a Sophomore at the high school and has lived in Rittman since birth. Marble is the son of EB R Marble of North State Street and a former graduate. He works in a local factory. The couple will reside with Irene’s father and receive the congratulations of friends.

Switch Engine Accident at The Cho Sait Co

A switch engine during car movement at The Cho Sait Co. struck a large steam pipe about 10 inches in diameter near the tipple and did not burst. The fireman was taken to Wirdsworth hospital for repairs and the cab suffered substantial damage to the engine. If the pipe had burst the engineer and fireman could have faced serious injuries.
